PARKS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

City of Shoreview has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Supervisor position in our Parks & Recreation Dept. Duties include administration and management of City parks operations, supervision of work crew, secure quotes and supervise contractor/vendor work, enforcing safety standards, contact with the public, scheduling equipment/resources. Minimum 5 yrs maintenance exp, 2 yrs supervisory exp, valid CDL license, HS diploma or equiv, ability to lift/move 50-100 lbs.

Starting salary range: $71,178-$74,006 annually plus excellent benefits.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Grounds Foreman

REPORTS TO:  Director of Operations and the Facilities Manager

SUPERVISES:  District grounds maintenance staff 

JOB GOAL: To effectively plan, manage, and supervise the school districtís grounds and grounds maintenance staff.

 

 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:                

●        Make recommendations and assist in the hiring and performance evaluations of district grounds maintenance staff

●        Directing the work of other grounds maintenance staff and verifying the tasks are completed

●        Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of all District school grounds

●        Supervise, schedule, assign and direct the work of grounds staff

●        Prepare specifications for the purchase of new equipment

●        Maintain maintenance and repair records on all equipment

●        Assist Athletic Director and coaches in purchasing, scheduling, handling and maintaining outdoor athletic equipment

●        Supervise the maintenance and repair of all grounds equipment

●        Assist in the development of the district maintenance budget and monitor maintenance expenses

●        Operate grounds equipment as required to accomplish objectives

●        Supervise, schedule and assign work for summer and winter requirements

●        Provide technical expertise in the area of turf, outdoor athletic equipment, grounds equipment, shrub, tree and other related landscape maintenance, repair and upkeep

●        Establish preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and prioritize maintenance projects district wide

●        Perform other related duties delegated to accomplish the objectives of the total School District.

●        Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

●        Minnesota Commercial, Class B vehicle operatorís license. Current licensure is required at all times. Clean Minnesota driving record (Verification will be required)

●        5 years experience in grounds operations, snow removal, maintenance and upkeep in a commercial setting

●        Practical knowledge of turf, soils, fertilizers, pesticides.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

●        Current A & E Pesticide Applicators License, within 6 months

●        Experience in athletic field layout and set up

●        Directly related post-secondary education may be substituted on a year for year basis for the grounds experience

 

SALARY: $56,000 plus overtime

WORK YEAR:                                     260 days (12-month position)
